Twitter Banned in Uganda Over Election Interference

Twitter admits they “suspended a number of accounts targeting the election in Uganda” in close coordination with their peers. This, as Big Tech companies are acting in lockstep to crack down on conservative speech. In response, Uganda has banned Facebook and Twitter entirely, two days before their election. Twitter is now saying that “access to information and freedom of expression” is important—especially during an election.
