The U.S. military drew criticism for using what is called “The Mother of Al Bombs” against n ISIS position in Afghanistan on April 13.

The bomb, the 21,600-pound (9,797-kg) GBU-43, is the most powerful non-nuclear explosive device made by man. Each one costs about $16 million.

Some people said that the money could have been put to better use elsewhere, and that more cost-effective munitions could have been used.

Others protested the publicity the bomb was given: photos and fl of the bomb being trucked around with the initials M.O.A.B. on its nose cone.

Some said it was used to distract attention from President Trump’s political problems.

General John Nicholson, the top U.S. Military Commander in Afghanistan, made short work of all the criticism.

“This was the right weapon against the right target,” he stated plainly.

Speaking at a press conference in Afghanistan, General Nicholson explained that the bomb was chosen because it would destroy the network of tunnels in which ISIS (Daesh) fighters were hiding.

“This weapon was the appropriate weapon used against its target and prior to this we didn’t have such a target,” he explained.

The bomb reportedly killed 36 ISIS fighters and destroyed their base, which was a sanctuary for fighters traveling to and from Syria.

“There will be no sanctuary for Daesh in Afghanistan,” he stated with finality.
