UK Lawmakers Debate Taiwan-UK Relations

Amid the erosion of freedoms in Hong Kong, a backbench debate this afternoon focused on the UK’s friendship with Taiwan. Lawmakers voiced concerns over the threats Taiwan faces from the Chinese Communist Party, and also brought up Taiwan’s exclusion from the WHO saying the world could have learned sooner from Taiwan’s pandemic response, if it was a member.
