Prime Minister Theresa May will trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the formal notification of the United Kingdom’s intention to leave the European Union, on March 29, a spokesman for the British leader said on Monday (March 20).
The United Kingdom has informed European Council President Donald Tusk’s office of May’s intention, May’s spokesman said, confirming an earlier Reuters report from Brussels.
On Monday (March 20), May met with Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones to sign a city regional deal in Swansea, which will lead to £1.3 billion of investment in south Wales.
