UK, US Pension Plans Could Be Fueling China’s Human Rights Abuses: Report

A report launched on Nov. 22 alleges pension plans in the UK, the United States, and Canada have invested in firms complicit in human rights abuses in Xinjiang, putting China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims under renewed scrutiny. NTD sat down with a crossbench member of the House of Lords, Lord Alton, to discuss how some people may be passively funding human rights violations in China, as well as the calls for British judges in Hong Kong to stand down.
