The Shoalhaven Heads Ukulele Festival attracted aficionados young and old. They came to play together and have fun.

Vox Pop, a ukulele player, talked about how much fun it is, “You can’t take yourself seriously with a ukulele in your hand. You really can’t. It’s just great, it’s fun.”

In history, the ukulele managed to make its way from Hawaii to all around the world.

In Australia the ukulele is growing in popularity again.

“It only takes, like, five months and then you’re pretty much really good at it,” said Jarla Last.

“Professional,” added Huon Last.

Perhaps Australians are discovering this approachability and ease of playing anew.
