Transport for London has installed nearly two-thirds of the Ultra Low Emission Zone cameras set to be used for the ULEZ expansion across Greater London. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) charges drivers £12.50 (approximately 16 USD) per day if their car does not meet emissions standards. That means that drivers in London would have to either pay the daily charge or switch to a new car that meets the required emission criteria.
Transport for London said Ulez is part of a broader plan to tackle air pollution. Yet despite ULEZ being touted as a major factor behind the Tories winning the Uxbridge and South Ruislip by-elections, Mayor Sadiq Khan is still pressing on with the scheme.
