University of California’s president promotes ties with Mexico

University of California President Janet Napolitano addressed Mexico’s Senate on Wednesday, March 29, assuring the Mexican legislators that that the school’s UC-Mexico Initiative would remain a priority.

The UC-Mexico Initiative saw 34 percent more Mexican and U.S. students studying in each others’ universities in the last three years.

Napolitano was U.S. homeland security secretary under President Obama, and previously, governor of Arizona.
