Update: Woman in Canada Abduction Video Found Safe

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect wanted in an alleged abduction in York.

The victim, a 28-year-old woman, is safe after police released a video showing her ringing a doorbell at a home in Richmond Hill at 2:50 a.m. earlier this month. She was found on Aug. 24, according to York Regional Police in a statement.

The footage also shows a suspect who is believed to be armed with a gun get out of a parked car before grabbing the woman and taking her to the car while threatening to kill her.

Jonathan McLennan, 27, of Toronto, is wanted on several charges, including kidnapping with a firearm, forcible confinement, and unauthorized possession of a firearm, York Police said.

McLennan is considered armed and dangerous. Police say that if someone sees him, call the police immediately and do not approach him.

“Thanks to tips received from the public, on Friday, August 24, 2018, investigators were able to identify both the man and woman that were seen in the surveillance video. The victim, a 28-year-old woman from the Town of Richmond Hill was located in good health,” York Police stated.

“I think I’m going to die,” the woman can be heard in the surveillance video.  No one answered the door.
