US: Breakthrough Unlikely as Blinken Heads to China

The United States appears to be downplaying expectations of a breakthrough with China ahead of a critical trip as of Wednesday, just days before the first trip by a U.S. Secretary of State to China in five years.

A White House statement on the matter followed a tense call with Beijing’s foreign minister.
