The United States vetoed an Arab-backed resolution at the United Nations that was calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza. However, the U.S did draft its own resolution for a “temporary cease-fire” in a proposal that includes language the United States has not used before.

All of this comes as an Israeli offensive is looming on the city of Rafah, which the Israeli government says is Hamas’ last stronghold in Gaza. Now analysts and some reports are speculating on whether the war in Gaza will soon come to an end. NTD spoke to Jonathan Tobin, the editor-in-chief of the Jewish News Syndicate, about the latest developments in the conflict—and the prospects for an end to hostilities.
