For the first time ever, a French company used the Chinese yuan to buy liquified natural gas (LNG) from a Chinese company, as the yuan-settled trade facilitated by Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange.

China is trying to establish its currency internationally, and at the same time, it wants to undermine the dominance of the U.S. dollar. Is the yuan on its way to replacing the dollar? NTD spoke to Joseph Trevisani, a senior market analyst at Fxstreet, for his analysis.
