Trucking prices are up 35 percent year to date according to Everscore ISI, and data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the price of eggs is up 49 percent from last year. This will impact the price of holiday dinners as Christmas approaches. NTD spoke to Mike Kucharski, the co-owner and vice president of JKC Trucking Inc., for analysis. Kucharski pointed to high worldwide food inflation as a woe for Americans, and said that the United States needs to freeze diesel exports and become net energy independent again to bring trucking costs down to relieve food costs.
