US Pledges $45 Million to Boost West Africa Security

With a $45 million pledge, Washington is boosting ties with key partners in Africa. America’s top diplomat Anthony Blinken met with the Ivory Coast’s president on Tuesday and promised them the funds to help fight conflict in West Africa as a competition for power heats up in the area. China’s influence on the continent is growing and many African countries also have friendly relations with Russia.
