The Justice Department Tuesday sanctioned a Chinese chemist who they called “one of the most significant drug traffickers in the world.”
According to the department, Zhang Taotao sent fentanyl to the United States in disguised packages to slip past authorities. The department also sanctioned Allyrise Technology Group Co., a company in Hong Kong. This company is said to have either been owned, controlled, or operated by Taotao. Under these sanctions, they’re barred from trading with the United States in any way.
