US, South Korean navy vessels meet up in Western Pacific

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike group anchored by the USS Carl Vinson joined up with South Korean navy vessels in the Western Pacific on May 3.

Washington and Seoul have been considering joint naval exercises in the waters west of the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea sees all joint military training exercises as provocation, which means to some degree, they are effective as intimidation.
