On Nov. 23 Reuters said The Trump administration was close to listing 89 Chinese aerospace and other companies as having military ties, restricting them from buying a range of U.S. goods and technology.

The report says Commercial Aircraft Corp of China Ltd, or COMAC, is on the list. It is believed to be spearheading Chinese efforts to compete with Boeing and Airbus in large aircraft production.

Earlier this month, President Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting U.S. investors from investing in companies owned or controlled by the Chinese military.

The regulations will take effect in January and may affect 31 Chinese companies including China Telecom, China Mobile, and Hikvision.

The U.S. Department of Defense identified these companies as being supported by the Chinese military.
