It was a busy day on Nov. 4 at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. Soldiers and Airmen of 355 Civil Engineer Squadron worked to assemble tents at the Air Force Base. The tents that they build would house migrants who are arriving to the US from the border.

At Sunglow City, a completed compound, will provide shelter for deployed soldiers. The soldiers had already completed a compound at Sunglow City. The compound is built to house soldiers deployed in support of Operation Faithful Patriot. It’s an U.S. Northern Command led mission to secure the southern border of the United States.

This came a week after the military announced they would send 7,000 troops to the border as a caravan of Central American migrants slowly heads toward the United States. The U.S. Military declined a proposal by Homeland to build housing for the detained migrants. Trump said the migrants would stay in the tents while the U.S. government weighs their asylum request.
