US veteran gets 35 years for trying to join ISIS

A U.S. veteran was convicted of trying to help ISIS.

Tairod Pugh received a 35-year prison sentence from a judge. His case was heard in federal court, in Brooklyn, New York.

The judge commended his Air Force service. But the judge described him as wasting the opportunity.

Pugh’s case is the first verdict from over 70 similar cases.
