US Warns of Investing in Chinese Companies

The recent plunge in the stocks of DiDi, a Chinese rideshare company, sheds light on the risks Americans face if they choose to invest in Chinese companies listed on U.S. stock exchanges. Now, to protect American shareholders, the Security and Exchange Commission is requiring Chinese companies to disclose risk information about their corporate structure and how much influence the Chinese government has over companies listed in the U.S. market.
