USMCA: Building more integrated, resilient, and secure North American supply chains: A Brookings conversation

Live Chat

The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is critical in building more integrated, resilient, and secure supply chains for all three North American country’s governments, industries, and civil societies.

It sets rules and market access commitments for business and lays the foundation for expanding investment into complex and capital-intensive manufacturing and supply chains across North America.

On Feb. 28, senator and Chief of the Special Committee for USMCA Implementation for the Mexican Senate Claudia Ruiz Massieu; Kansas City Southern Railroad CEO Patrick Ottensmeyer; Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jayme White; Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada Deputy Minister Simon Kennedy; Director of the International Department for AFL-CIO Cathy Feingold; Associate Professor and Department Vice Chair of Rutgers Business School Kevin Kolben; external adviser of the General Directorate for the National College of Professional Technical Education Sylvia B. Ortega Salazar; and Mexico’s Former Chief Negotiator of the USMCA Kenneth Smith will share their perspectives at 1:00 p.m. ET on maximizing and securing supply chains in the North America region, in a conversation held by the Brookings Institution to release their “second annual flagship report of its USMCA initiative.”
