Richard Hopkins works for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier in Erie, Pennsylvania.

He is now on unpaid leave (as of Tuesday). He says this is because of allegations he made that the local postmaster discussed a scheme to back date mail-in ballots.

And now, Hopkins has released a video denying he fabricated his allegations. That’s after the House Oversight Committee claimed on Tuesday that investigators told them Hopkins had recanted his statement.

“I am, right at this very moment, looking at an article written by the Washington Post. Says that I ah, fabricated the allegations of ballot tampering. I’m here to say that I did not recant my statements. That did not happen. That’s not what happened.”
