Hundreds of people gathered in London’s Trafalgar Square on Thursday evening, March 23, in a vigil to remember the victims of the terror attack near parliament in which four people died and some 40 were injured.
With traffic diverted, the landmark square was eerily quiet as dusk fell and volunteers handed out candles.
The mourners, who were addressed by Acting Commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police Craig Mackey, Home Secretary Amber Rudd and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, held a minute’s silence before the event ended.
The March 22 attack was the deadliest in Britain since 2005, when 52 people were killed by Islamist suicide bombers on London’s public transport system.
