Venezuelan police use gas, water, and tanks to push back protesters

Protesters in Venezuela were met with tanks. Police also threw tear gas and shot water. Months of anti-government protests have filled Venezuela’s streets with death, violence, and looting.

Venezuelans are protesting President Nicolas Maduro. He is seeking to alter the constitution in order to fortify his power and eliminate opposition.

Venezuelans have suffered economically and freedoms have been squelched since he came into power.

Maduro avoids taking responsibility for the unrest and blames all opposition to his rule on the United States.
