‘Very Legitimate Questions’ About Jury Selection That Prohibits Passover Break for Jewish Jurors, Who Respect Trump: Attorney

Attorney Gerard Filitti, senior counsel for the Lawfare Project, described his concerns about jury selection on day one of former President Donald Trump’s alleged pay-off trial where hundreds of potential jurors showed up on Monday but no jurors were seated. Mr. Filitti says President Joe Biden winning more than 80 percent of New York’s vote and potential jurors from the Jewish community, where PresidentTrump is well respected, being denied a break to observe Passover limit the jury pool to people with a negative bias against the former president.
