Armistice Day is a holiday observed worldwide each Nov. 11 to celebrate the end of World War One. Since then, the holiday has been renamed Veterans Day in the United States, and serves to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. A huge Veterans Day parade took place in Philadelphia on Nov. 5.
