Vice President Pence speaks at U.S. Naval Academy graduation

Vice President Mike Pence spoke at the U.S. Naval Academy’s graduating ceremony.

He spoke about the president’s commitment to providing the armed forces with everything they need.

Vice President Pence also told graduates of the virtues needed for success.

“Remember that character is destiny. Be men and women of integrity. People follow people they trust. I truly believe that among the most important qualities of leadership, whether it’s in the armed forces or any other endeavor, are humility, orientation to authority and self control,” he said.

He spoke to a graduating class of 1,053. The majority of the class will join the Navy and the rest will become Marines.

Pence has a son who is currently an officer in the Marines.
