Former Vice President Joe Biden gave a speech in the Nevada State Democratic Party event in Las Vegas, where he introduced his 19-year-old granddaughter as a state campaign staffer and kissed her on the lips.

The kiss caused controversy on top of the 76-year-old Democratic candidate’s already controversial history of inappropriately touching women. The video also sparked severe criticism on social media.

“Finnigan is a rising junior in college, and she agreed to work in the campaign this summer, and she is working,” Biden told the audience in Las Vegas.

“I just wanted you to meet the life of my love, the love of my life, Finnigan Biden here,” he said.

He then turned towards his granddaughter and gives her a kiss on the lips.

Many Twitter users were disturbed and didn’t hide their opinions.

One user wrote: “Just watch this. He targets the lips. Only severe creeps do that.”

“I realize it’s his granddaughter, and I still think it’s gross. Who kisses grown or teenage children on the lips? I wouldn’t even kiss my youngest grandchildren on the lips,” wrote another commenter.

Another person on Twitter posted a video of Biden’s previously recorded invasion of space of other young girls.

The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate decided to go to the graduation of Finnigan Biden’s sister, Maisy Biden, instead of an essential Democratic event in Iowa where almost all his 2020 Democratic competitors were having a word, according to the Washington Examiner.

Former President Barack Obama’s younger daughter, Sasha Obama, was also attending the graduation, reported the Washington Examiner.

He had recently missed a 2020 gathering of liberals in California and compared to his rivals, has been going to less than half of the events in quantity.

Maisy’s sisters, Naomi and Finnigan are daughters of Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, 49. The two older sisters were Sidwell Friends alumni.

Hunter Biden got married secretly in June to a South African divorcee that he had met only 10 days earlier.

Hunter Biden’s brother, Beau Biden, died of brain cancer in 2015. Hunter, after divorcing Maisy’s mother, Kathleen, had been dating Beau’s widow. He is also presently facing a paternity suit from a woman from Arkansas.

Joe Biden has made a strange joke about butterflies and snakes several times before.

He appears in this footage saying: “When you’re daughter is about 12 and a half years old you put this little butterfly in bed, and you kiss it goodnight. Next morning you walk in, and there’s a snake in the bed.”

A History of Inappropriate Touching

Two women came forward to accuse Joe Biden of disagreeable touching on April 2.

Caitlyn Caruso, 22, and D.J. Hill, 59, shared their stories to The New York Times.

Caruso said that Biden rested his hand on her thigh even as she showed her discomfort, she also said that Biden hugged her “just a little bit too long.”

“It doesn’t even really cross your mind that such a person would dare perpetrate harm like that,” Caruso told The New York Times. “These are supposed to be people you can trust.”

Hill, the second woman, met Biden at a fundraising event in Minneapolis in 2012. When Hill and her husband posed for a photo with the vice president, Biden placed his hand on her shoulder and began to drop it down her back, which made her “very uncomfortable.”

Hill’s husband noticed Biden’s move and stopped him by placing a hand on Biden’s shoulder and making a joke. Hill doesn’t know what Biden’s intention was.

“Only he knows his intent,” Hill told the New York Times.

Hill and Caruso came forward after two other women accused Biden of inappropriate touching.

Lucy Flores, a former Nevada lawmaker, said that Biden leaned in too close, smelled her hair, and planted a kiss on the back of her head during a 1994 campaign event for her in Nevada. Flores told CNN the entire gesture was “completely inappropriate.”

Amy Lappos, a former congressional aide, told the Hartford Courant that Biden “put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me” during a fundraiser in Connecticut in 2009.

“When he was pulling me in, I thought he was going to kiss me on the mouth,” Lappos told the Hartford Courant.

Among other cases, Biden was photographed touching and smelling Stephanie Carter, the wife of former Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.
