A family was on vacation in Tennessee when they came across a scene in the roadway—two young bears playfully fighting in the middle of the road while mama bear relaxed nearby. The family captured the scene unravelling in a video that has since gone viral.

The family was in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, when they came across the scene.

The video footage shows the younger bears were on their hind legs wrestling each other on the right side of the road, and they carried on until one of the bears backed the other bear over to the left side of the road. The bears then wrestled each other over to the middle of the road and kept on playfully fighting until mama bear came to stop the playful fighting.

The older bear is seen poking her nose against the two fighting bears, then starts heading towards the family’s car.  The two younger bears stop their playing and follow mama bear right past the car. Footage of the bears can be seen in the side-view mirror as they meander by.

The video posted by Fox News managed to receive, at the time of this reporting, over 29,000 reactions, more than 2,300 comments, and over 10,000 shares. According to the website, it has been viewed over 935,000 times.

Some of the comments were from people sharing their own personal experience with seeing bears, while others were commenting on how they also wish they could have this sort of experience.

“Last year we hiked the first trail going into Cade Cove and the conservationist there in the parking lot said it would be a safe hike even though it was later in the day. We come upon a Momma Bear and two cubs next to the trail grazing in tall grass. Luckily my husband heard them. I had a camera and the Momma Bear stood up on her hind legs and made eye contact. We slowly backed away and she never bothered us,” one user wrote.

Others replied and commented on how a mother bear should not leave their kids unattended, according to the comments. Whereas some others were adding their thoughts about what caused this moment occur.

Ultimately, a user named Patrick Mongatue summed it up nicely, “Very cute but, Thankfully the family had the common sense to not interact with the bears. People don’t realize that you should NEVER interact with them! When wild animals, of any kind, become comfortable with humans it puts their lives in danger. If an animal reacts to your presence, you’re too close. Enjoy them from a distance, it’s better for you and them.”
