Firefighters and other emergency responders searched for survivors in partially collapsed buildings in Hualien City Wednesday following Taiwan’s strongest earthquake in nearly 25 years.
Video footage from the self-ruled island’s fire department shows workers using specialized detection devices and rescue dogs to locate survivors who may be stuck inside buildings destroyed by the tremors.
The quake hit just before 8 a.m. at the height of the island’s morning rush hour.
