Video shows police rescuing women after months in captivity

A new video shows the moment police found kidnap victim Kayla Brown after two months in captivity.

Brown, 30, was kidnapped last August in South Carolina, and kept chained to a wall in a storage container. Brown was with boyfriend Charlie Carver when they were seized.

The video shows the police finding and freeing her in November.

Brown was incredibly lucky to have been rescued. Her kidnapper, Todd Kohlhepp, pleaded guilty to multiple murders. There were bodies buried all around the property. One of those bodies was Charlie Carver.

After her rescuer Brown told police Kohlhepp had killed Carver.

“Todd Kohlhepp shot Charlie Carver three times in the chest, wrapped him in a blue tarp, put him in the bucket of the … tractor, locked me down here and I’ve never seen him again,” she said.

“He says he’s dead and buried, he says there’s several bodies dead and buried out here,” she said.

Kohlhepp pleaded guilty to kidnap and sexual assault in Brown’s case. Those crimes, along with the seven other murders, earned him life in prison without chance of parole.
