Video footage shows the driver of a high-end Maserati sports car involved in a crash on the Interstate 15 in Weber County, Utah.

The crash took place at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning on the northbound lanes of I-15 near Riverdale road in Roy, Utah, officials told Fox13.

The Maserati can be seen, in a dashcam video, speeding into oncoming traffic before hitting another vehicle.

“My first thought was they’re both dead,” Louis Marshall, a witness, told Fox13. Marshall was driving in a taxi vehicle at the time and shared his dashcam footage online.

The other vehicle flipped over the barrier into the other lane.

“Suddenly I see sparks to the right of me and I see a car run into the wire barrier and flip over, roll over upside down,” witness Jordan Jaeger said, adding that he pulled over and called 911.

“She was pinned,” he said of a victim that he saw. He ran over to help her.

He said, “Her head was pinned in between the seat and the mangled up front end of the car. So I held her hand and I told her it’s OK, don’t move. Help’s on the way.”

Utah officials said that the injuries were relatively minor, and there were no fatalities.

“It was a very significant impact. If either vehicle had had a passenger, it would be likely that they wouldn’t be here today,” said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Tucker Harris.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Lawrence Hopper, the driver of the Maserati, 44-year-old Gary Shook, used the wrong exit at around 12:44 a.m. and headed south in the northbound lanes, Good4Utah reported. Then, he hit an Izusu Rodeo, causing it to flip.

The driver of the Rodeo suffered a shattered pelvis and lacerations to her head. Shook, meanwhile, suffered lacerations to his head. Both were hospitalized, according to the report.

Shook was then taken to the Weber County Jail on suspicion of DUI, and he could face more charges, officials said.

“It’s just a reminder to not drink and drive and how important remembering to put your seatbelt on is,” a driver, who saw the crash, told Good4Utah. “Our thoughts go out to the victims in this accident.”
