People in Vietnam are outraged by a video of an elderly Asian man being manhandled off United Airlines flight.

Dr. David Dao, who grew up in Vietnam, was dragged off the flight despite having paid for a ticket. The carrier wanted to make room for four airline employees it needed on another flight elsewhere.

When Dao refused to get off, he was dragged off by force.

Video of the incident has spread all over the world.

Some people feel that Dao was singled out because he was Asian.

People interviewed in Vietnam didn’t mention his race; they focused on the violence with which he was treated.

“I feel angry as a Vietnamese. I don’t understand why a person, taking a flight, got beaten up like that,” said 38-year-old Le Anh Tuan.

My Ha said, “Using such violence is just not right.”

None of the Vietnamese interviewed mentioned the fact that the doctor was Vietnamese.

The common theme was that no one should be treated in such a manner.
