Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam and his wife have tested positive for the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, making him the second governor this week found to be infected.
Northam, a Democrat, announced the diagnosis in a statement Friday morning. He said he isn’t experiencing any symptoms, while first lady Pamela Northam currently has mild symptoms. The statement says both remain in good spirits.
The governor and first lady will isolate for the next 10 days, with the governor fulfilling his duties from home. The pair were tested for the virus after they were notified a staff member was confirmed to be infected on Sept. 23. Northam’s positive diagnosis comes just two days after Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, announced that he and his wife also tested positive.
