New York Gov. Kathy Hochul will hold a “Get Out the Vote” rally in Manhattan on Nov. 3. Vice President Kamala Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are expected to join the event.

The rally will be held at Barnard College at 5 p.m. ET and is hosted by the Columbia University Democrats.

The race for New York governor is getting increasingly competitive. In recent weeks, Hochul’s double-digit lead has fallen, though she still leads by single digits over Republican contender Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.).

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) recently took the unusual step of creating a super PAC to give Hochul a last-minute boost.

Seeing the chance for a Republican to win the governor’s seat in blue New York, the Republican Governors Association (RGA) has spent nearly $2 million on two different groups supporting Zeldin.

The two candidates have different focuses for their campaigns. Zeldin has seized on the issues of inflation and crime, including bail reform, while Hochul’s campaign has been focusing on abortion, concerns about the events on Jan. 6, 2021, and tying Zeldin to former President Donald Trump.

Zeldin is expected to hold his own rally in Rensselaer County on Thursday evening. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), chair of the House Republican Conference, is expected to stump for Zeldin at the rally.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin have also recently campaigned for Zeldin in New York.
