A fire is forcing evacuations in central Washington.
The fire spread from an old log yard north of Leavenworth. After the logs caught fire, the flame spread to downed timber, and then brush and standing timber. The fire is a danger to homes, timber, and electrical infrastructure.
One hundred and sixty-eight homes and cabins need to be evacuated. No injuries have been reported. Officials are still unsure of the cause.
