Nominee for House speaker Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) failed to get confirmed on Tuesday in the first round of the floor vote, due to opposition from 20 Republicans. Reps. Mario Diaz Balart (R-Fla.) and Ken Buck (R-Colo.), two of the 20 defectors, told NTD congressional correspondent Melina Wisecup after the vote that they would hold their positions.
