New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Monday announced hundreds of millions of dollars invested into the city’s public education system and a new math program “NYC Solves.” He said, “We had a system that failed children … and people made money off the dysfunctionality of the Department of Education for years.” At the same time, critics point out that the new proposed city budget plan includes hundreds of millions of dollars in cuts to public libraries, early education, and childcare.
