“We have to bring it to light” …. (video)
Lucia Dunn, Professor at Ohio State University

Lucia Dunn is a professor of economics at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She obtained her Ph.D degree in economics from University of California, Berkeley in the 1970s. She has published over 50 research papers in her field. She is now in her 70s, however she looks at least 10 years younger than her actual age.

She started practicing Falun Dafa in the year 2000, when one of her students from China introduced it to her. “The main benefit I got from becoming a Falun Dafa practitioner was that it changed my mind and my thinking. That’s really hard to do in people when they get older. You know when they become adults it’s so hard and that was sort of the miraculous thing about it. It changed the whole way I viewed things. I started living my life by truthfulness, compassion, forbearance. And it just changed everything.”

Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is an advanced practice of Buddha school self-cultivation, founded by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the practice’s master. It is a discipline in which “assimilation to the highest qualities of the universe—Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance)—is the foundation of practice. “

Prof. Lucia Dunn said, “It made everything in my family happier. There was more harmony in my family. I appreciated my husband more, my husband’s always tried to live by Zhen (truth), Shan (compassion), Ren (tolerance). So it had a lot of benefits for my family. They all noticed that I had become easier to live with.”

The practice of Falun Dafa not only benefited Prof Dunn’s family life, it also had a great positive impact on her teaching and research.

“I think my students benefited. I think my research benefited. I became more productive because I gave up a lot of attachments to things that I was worried about all the time. It helped me get a clearer vision of what life was all about, what the purpose of life was, what I needed to do in my life.”

In March 2006, a woman who had been working as a nurse in China made public the brutal practice of state sanctioned forced organ harvesting. She said as many as 4,000 Falun Gong practitioners had been killed for their organs at the hospital in which she had worked.

Mounting evidence tells a terrible tale of murder and mutilation in China. Witnesses and Chinese physicians reveal that tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are being killed for their organs, which are sold and transplanted for enormous profit. Since this information was exposed, professor Dunn, together with her fellow Falun Gong practitioners have been working tirelessly to raise public awareness on this issue.

“In 2006, when we first got news about the forced organ harvesting. We’ve done a lot of work with organ harvesting,” she said. “We have collected thousands of signatures on the doctors against forced harvesting petition that goes to the United Nation’s human rights commission every year. “

Professor Dunn said that it is important for the general public to be informed on what is going on in China.

“Everybody needs to inform themselves about what is going on,” Dunn said. “What’s going on in China now, especially with the organ harvesting, is a threat to our whole civilization. It changes the very basic meaning of what it is to be a human being.”

“When you can treat a living human being as industrial merchandise, which is what that organ harvesting does. You need to think about what our life is gonna be like for our children and our grandchildren, and everybody needs to stand up and and oppose that.”
