Wendy Williams may be struggling with staying sober.

A source spoke with US Weekly this week about Williams’s current state of sobriety.

“Wendy is not in a good place,” the source told the magazine. “Friends close to her are worried she’s spiraling out of control.”

Wendy Williams filed for divorce in April, CNN reported. In May, Williams revealed that due to her marital issues, she was going to dissolve her foundation, The Hunter Foundation, that she established to help drug addicts, according to People.

Kevin Hunter, Williams’s estranged husband, spoke with People about the dissolution in May.

“Although The Hunter Foundation in its current form will dissolve, the important work will live on,” he said. “I plan on launching a new foundation in the near future to continue the important mission in helping those struggling with drug addiction and substance abuse.”

A source close to Hunter also spoke to People about the divorce.

“He and Wendy were married for 22 years and he is focused on being there for their son Kevin Jr.,” the source said. “He is trying to keep things amicable in terms of the divorce.”

Williams decided to get the divorce after Hunter’s rumored long-time mistress gave birth.

“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family, and her amazing fans,” Hunter said in statement obtained by People. “I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.

“28 years ago, I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally,” he said.

Although rumors about his cheating have long circulated, a source revealed to People what had happened in the lead up to the recent events.

“Wendy had hired a private investigator and confronted him. He confessed to everything three weeks ago,” the source said via the April 16 report.

Williams admitted to her fans that she had been confronting her problem with drug addiction, USA Today reported in March.

“You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped,” she said on her show, adding that she now lives in a sober house.

Reports also said that Hunter is now no longer in charge of Williams’s business affairs. Williams made this clear at the recent Black enterprise ‘FWD’ conference in North Carolina.

She gave the audience an example of how Hunter used to manage the affairs of her show.

“Kev and the team would show up … and wouldn’t tell me until he knew the deal was done,” she said.

She then said a little about how she would now handle things.

“I want to be in on every meeting until the deal is done, this is how I roll,” Williams said at the conference, acccording to The Blast.
