Amid Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter’s divorce, Kevin Jr. reportedly got into a physical altercation with his father, resulting in the police being called to break up the fight.

On Tuesday, May 22, Williams dropped her son off at her home, unaware that her estranged husband was there, according to TMZ.

The 18-year-old and his father made a quick trip to a nearby store where they got into a heated argument, according to the entertainment outlet.

According to TMZ, Hunter claimed that Williams was trying to “brainwash” their son. As the fight escalated from verbal to physical, Hunter put his son in a headlock and Hunter Jr. retaliated by punching his father in the face.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey confirmed to E! News that Hunter Jr. was arrested and charged with “alleged simple assault” by West Orange police.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hunter told TMZ he won’t be pressing charges.

“I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally,” he told the outlet, adding that, “Things are not always how they appear.”

As previously reported, after 22 years of marriage, Williams filed for divorce amid rumors that Hunter had fathered a child with an alleged mistress.

Hunter is believed to be the father of a child with 33-year-old massage therapist Sharina Hudson.

“Sharina gave birth to the baby at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philly. Apparently, they chose this location because they were worried that if she gave birth in New York, it would be leaked to the press,” a source told Page Six.

Wendy Williams was found drunk after her husband’s alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, gave birth on March 25, according to the New York Post. The news emerged about a week after Williams admitted on her talk show that she was living in a sobriety house to deal with substance abuse issues.

“This is a crazy situation. Wendy is in a halfway house fighting for her sobriety, while her husband is at the side of his mistress who is giving birth to a baby. Sharina went into labor on Sunday [and] is believed to have given birth late on Sunday or in the early hours of Monday,” a source told Page Six.

As previously reported, Williams also fired Hunter from “The Wendy Williams Show” where he was the executive producer for over a decade.

“Keven Hunter is no longer an Executive Producer on the ‘Wendy Williams Show,'” a spokesperson told Page Six.

Hunter had been a part of the show since 2008, and while there were no issues with Hunter and his job duties, TMZ learned that his presence on set was causing Wendy Williams a lot of stress due to issues in their relationship.
