WHO Says Omicron Could Infect 50 Percent Europeans

The Omicron variant is spreading quickly across Europe. In the first week of the new year, authorities reported more than 7 million new cases. The World Health Organisation says more than half the European population could be infected with Omicron within eight weeks, and COVID-19 has not become endemic yet.
