Why Are Older Americans Struggling to Pay for Medicine?

A new report revealed that older Americans are struggling to pay for their medications. Jama Network Open released the report on Thursday that 20 percent of adults over age 65 chose to avoid taking their medicine or took less than recommended due to price concerns. In 2016, that number was about 14 percent according to the journal Medical Care. NTD spoke with Wayne Winegarden, senior fellow in Business and Economics at the Pacific Research Institute, for analysis.
