The All England Club, the venue for the Wimbledon championships, will be appealing a $750,000 fine by the women’s tour, or WTA. The fine is for not allowing Russian and Belarusian players to participate in tournaments in Britain because of the war in Ukraine. In addition, the Lawn Tennis Association, which is the British federation for the sport, will also appeal a $250,000 fine by the WTA for not allowing Russian and Belarusian players in grass-court tune-up events for Wimbledon last month.
