Wolf Erlbruch wins children’s book award

German illustrator and picture book author Wolf Erlbruch won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for children’s literature. It’s the world’s largest award for children’s books. The contest originates in Sweden.

The winner each year gets $555,271 (5 million Swedish krona). Erlbruch has written 10 children’s books, and has illustrated almost 50. His most popular is “The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business.”
