A young lady flying to Istanbul on April 7 gave the flight crew a surprise.

Nafi Diaby, 28 weeks pregnant, boarded a flight from Guinea’s capital Conakry to Istanbul, Turkey on April 7.

Shortly after take-off, Diaby went into labor.

The Turkish Airlines flight crew handled the incident with aplomb. They gathered around Diaby and helped deliver a healthy baby girl, who Diaby decided to name “Kadiju.”

The plane made an emergency landing at Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and the new mother and her baby were taken to the hospital for observation. Turkish Airlines’ office there reports that mother and child are doing fine.
