An Indianapolis woman who suffered a brutal attack is now offering advice to other women.

Carleigh Hager, 25, was attacked by boyfriend Ryan Cameron inside their Indiana home.

Her brother-in-law, Eric Splichal, indicated that she had more than 20 bite marks on her body. And Amy Ballard, Hager’s mother, said she’s confident her daughter will pull through.

“It’s going to be a long road to recovery, but she is a strong woman from strong stock and we will overcome,” Ballard said, according to the Indianapolis Star.

A GoFundMe for Hager, which has raised more than $21,000 for her, said that she’s still in recovery.

Cameron, according to the account, “followed her into the bathroom and began brutally beating Carleigh, slamming her head into the tub, biting wherever he could reach.”

“And he tried to rip my tongue out with his bare fingers,” Hager told Fox News.

Hager said that she stayed in the abusive relationship because she was afraid after he threatened her. She is now offering advice to women in similar situations.

She told WTHR: “Don’t ever let them tell you that you’re nothing, That you have nowhere to go.”

“Don’t let them take your spirits away from you and tell you that you’re not pretty, that you can’t do anything. Hang out with your friends. Do anything in this world. Because that’s not a man. That’s not somebody who loves you.”

The GoFundMe account said that she “has an extremely long road to recovery ahead of her.”
