World Dog Surfing Championship In Pacifica

Dogs can swim. Some can surf, too.

On August 5, the second annual World Dog Surfing Championship was held at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, the popular surfing destination of San Francisco. 

The event gathered dozens of talented dogs from California. They were put into three groups by weight.

You might be surprised to see how the dogs maintaining a good balance on the surfing board. They seemed to enjoy riding on the wave and being pushed by their humans.  

The free event include exhibitions, dog adoptions, and fashion contest. A portion of the proceeds go to dog related non-profits.
