Xi Jinping Visited Mao Zedong’s Hometown

Last week, Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping visited the hometown of communist dictator Mao Zedong. It marked his third visit to the site in the 8 years since he took power.

During his trip, Xi told a group of primary students he met there that they should inherit and represent what he called the “red gene,”—refering to the communist ideology.
