Chinese Communist Party head Xi Jinping made an appearance in Chaozhou city, in Southern China’s Guangdong province on Oct. 12 and 13.
A number of regime officials accompanied him, including the Director of the CCP’s central office, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of the CCP’s Central Organization, and the Governor and CCP secretary of Guangdong province.
None were seen wearing masks. Nearby security staff also appeared mask-less.
But a video commemorating Xi’s visit has sparked questions online, particularly about the welcome crowd that gathered to greet them.
